FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: electrocardiogram (ECG) at rest and two-day the Holter ECG monitoring (HECGM) are carried out. By the data of the 24-hour monitoring of arterial pressure the mean systolic arterial pressure for the night period is determined, by the data of the ECG at rest the parameter "Cornell product" is calculated. On the second day peroral introduction of carvedilol in a single dose of 6.25 mg is performed, and by the HECGM results performed is spectral analysis of the heart rhythm variability with determination of difference of the index of sympathovagal balance for the first and second days of monitoring. A status of smoking is determined from anamnesis and in case of its presence the "index of tobacco smoking" is calculated. By the results of examination their numerical values are determined, which are used to determine prognostic coefficients F1 and F2 with further comparison of their values. If the F1 value is larger or equals to F2, high probability is predicted, if the F1 value is smaller than F2, low probability of efficient reduction of AP is predicted in case of carvedilol intake for the term not shorter than 6 months.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to realise prediction of carvedilol monotherapy in the patients with arterial hypertension with high accuracy.
