DEVICE FOR MOVING OVER SNOW Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: devices for moving over snow, mainly, skis. SUBSTANCE: device has ski, longitudinal supporting member made of two halves located on ski base side one opposite to the other and symmetrical to longitudinal axis, member for holding of supporting member half and lock. Each half is hinged to ski base. Device lock consists of rod with two symmetrical holes, two washers and two cotter pins. Device has bushing installed into supporting platform at level of ski base. Nose part of supporting member halves is made with bend and twisting by arbitrary radius and angle, respectively. Rod length A= B+2C, where A is rod length; B is width of supporting platform; C is width of halves of supporting member. Distance between rod holes D=B+2E+2F, where D is distance between rod holes; B is width of supporting platform; E is washer thickness; F is diameter of cotter pin head. Member for holding of supporting member halves is used in form of flexible cord whose ends are fastened with tension to clamps made on each half of supporting member. EFFECT: simple in manufacture, servicing and repair, and usable on various kinds of snow covers. 6 dwg
