FIELD: building industry. SUBSTANCE: heat-insulating unit is manufactured by preparing mixture from magnesian binder, large-size loose structure of wood-working waste with moisture content of not higher than 15% or straw, aqueous solution of magnesium chloride, e.g. bischofite at temperature of 150+-10 C and pressure of (1-4)•10-3 MPa, pressing and drying of unit for 40-60 minutes thus allowing for withdrawal of water vapors from side surfaces, cooling to temperature to about 40% of heating temperature; unit is thereafter removed from mold and maintained without load for 6-8 hours. EFFECT: simpler manufacturing process and low heat conduction with high strength characteristics of units. 1 dwg
