FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in increase of oil recovery from water-flooded formations with layer nonuniform permeability. SUBSTANCE: method includes introduction into formation of clay suspension fringes depending on pore volume with displacement of clay suspension in formation round wellbore with colmatage of pore channels with dispersed particles of clay, and conversion of introduced fringe into flow-deflecting barrier. Flooded well is selected with reservoir permeability ratio in perforated part of formation of 1.5 and above. Introduced into formation in radius of 25 m round well is clay suspension with clay concentration of 30-60 kg.cu.m in amount of 0.5 volume of pores with its radial displacement in formation. Producing well is shut-in for conversion of introduced fringe of clay suspension into flow-deflecting barrier. The latter is deformed and densified under pressure of moving front of injected water from interacting injection well. EFFECT: increased recovery of oil reserves of flooded formations due to displacement of oil from dead intervals. 1 ex
