FIELD: gas industry. SUBSTANCE: the method for liquefaction of natural gas consists in separation of gas into two flows, gas cleaning of impurities, cooling of nonthrolled gas in a heat exchanger by cold gas from a vortex tube, gas throttling and collection of liquefied gas in an accumulating tank, removal of heated gas from the vortex tube to the consumer. The device for liquefaction of natural gas has gas feed and discharge lines, unit for gas separation into two flows, filter, vortex tube, heat exchanger, liquid-flow restrictor positioned between the accumulating tank and heat exchanger, with the aid of this device the method is realized in such a way that the ratio of pressures at the heat exchanger inlet ((P0)) and in the condensate accumulator ((P1)) makes up 1.2 to 5.0; the ratio of mass flow rate of cooled gas at the vortex tube outlet and total gas delivered to the vortex tube equals 0.4 to 0.7; in the heat exchanger the gas gets cooled down to a temperature determined by ratio T1/T0= 0,6 - 0.95.
