FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the gas industry and can be used in processes of liquefaction of natural gas both at compressor stations and at gas distribution stations of main gas pipelines. The method for liquefying natural gas in a high pressure circuit consists cooling the compressed gas from the output of the main compressor in heat exchangers, reducing and directing into an intermediate separator, the production flow whereof is cooled in the heat exchangers, reduced and directed into the main separator. By means of the vapour phase, a return flow from the main separator is formed, passed consecutively through the heat exchangers and supplied to the input of the compressor. The liquefied part of gas remaining in the main separator is compensated for in the return flow by supplying dried and purified input gas divided into two flows in a makeup vortex tube. The cold flow from the vortex tube is mixed with the main part of the return flow and used to cool the direct flow directed for liquefaction. The hot flow from the vortex tube is cooled in the air-cooling unit (ACU), mixed with the main part of the return flow and supplied to the input of the compressor.

EFFECT: reduction in losses of NG and reduction in energy consumption of the compressor.
