FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding. SUBSTANCE: proposed device can be used for welding cylindrical housing with cover. Device has inductive conductor with cooling channels and magnetic circuit and gas line with shielding gas chamber. Working surface of inductive conductor is formed by inner conical and outer concave sections. Location of section mating line on extension of inner wall of cover edge provides formation of radial stiffening ribs on cover at welding. Angle of tilting of conical section relative to cover plane is chosen basing on distance between mating line of inductive conductor working surface sections and welded edges and preset length of collars forming radial stiffening ribs on cover. EFFECT: improved quality of weld joints. 3 dwg
