FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly securing tubes to tube plates due to localized directed plastic deformation of tube material. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming on outer surface of tube ends protrusion arranged along helical line. Protrusion has trapezoidal cross section and height exceeding depth of helical groove in opening of tube plate. Tube is mounted at rotating it in opening of tube plate, then it is fastened in said opening due to yielding of material of tube protrusion on surface of opening of tube plate in direction from edge of helical line. EFFECT: enhanced operational characteristics of joints, their reduced cost. 4 dwg
