FIELD: cleaning of soil contaminated with petroleum products. SUBSTANCE: sorbent for removing petro-oil contaminations comprises unslaked lime and industrial animal fat in amount of 0.4-3 wt %. Solvent is prepared by introducing industrial animal fat into powder-like unslaked lime and subsequently stirring the whole. Sorbent is stored in containers which do not allow penetration of moisture. The resulting product is cheap and effective sorbent makes if possible to attain high degree of removing petro-oil waste. EFFECT: improved properties of the sorbent. 1 tbl
