FIELD: synthesis-gas-conversion catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst containing inert carrier, cobalt, ruthenium, and third element selected from scandium and yttrium is prepared in at least two following steps: (i) preparation of the first catalyst precursor product A containing cobalt and inert carrier followed by calcination, reduction, and passivation; (ii) ) preparation of the second catalyst precursor product B containing cobalt, ruthenium, and inert carrier by precipitating ruthenium of the first catalyst precursor product A followed by calcination, reduction, and passivation; (iii) preparation of final catalyst by precipitating scandium or yttrium on catalyst precursor product B followed by calcination, reduction, and passivation. EFFECT: enhanced catalytic efficiency in conversion of synthesis gas into hydrocarbon products containing considerable amounts of hydrocarbons with number of carbon atoms exceeding or equal to 22. 9 cl, 2 tbl, 6 ex
