METHOD OF LOADING LOG BUNDLE ON BOARD SHIP Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: forest industry; loading ships. SUBSTANCE: method consists in raising log bundle by means of one crane 1 with grab bucket and directing it to inclined chute 2. Angle of inclination of chute is determined and adjusted depending on rate of motion of logs fed to receiver-accumulator 3 mounted on ground or on pontoon in high water periods. In receiver-accumulator, logs are subjected to trimming and forming bundle, after which bundles formed in receiver-accumulator are gripped by grab bucket mounted on other crane 5 and are loaded on board ship. Longitudinal conveyer may be used instead of crane 1. EFFECT: increased productivity; avoidance of man power. 3 dwg
