FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, methods of rail steel production. SUBSTANCE: method includes steel making in furnace, its tapping into ladle, deoxidation and subsequent blowing in ladle with gaseous nitrogen through slotted bottom refractory lance with slot thickness up to 0.1 mm for 15-30 min, flow rate of 40-65 n.cu.m/h and pressure of (6-8)105 Pa, and total consumption of nitrogen of 0.10-0.30 n.cu.m/t of liquid steel. EFFECT: higher impact strength of steel at position and negative temperatures due to increase and stabilization of nitrogen content in steel and reduced duration of heat due to reduced reducing period in connection with transfer of process of steel alloying with nitrogen from furnace into ladle. 1 tbl, 1 ex
