FIELD: conversion of reciprocation motion to rotation and vice versa in compressors and internal combustion engines with one or two combustion chambers for two pistons. SUBSTANCE: transmission includes stationary disc with rectilinear tracks having semicircular cross section and guiding grooves; movable disc joined with shaft through stopper. Movable disc has closed curvilinear track with semicircular cross section and with edges supporting balls with holders rigidly joined with connecting rods having pistons on their ends. Pistons may perform reciprocation motion in plane normal relative to rotation axis of shaft. Ball holders have front and rear portions mutually joined with possibility of engaging with ball. Each holder has one protrusion that may move in guiding grooves of rectilinear tracks. Depth of each groove is less than diameter of balls in order to prevent contact of rectilinear and curvilinear tracks. Height of edges of rectilinear tracks along their whole length changes from center of movable disc to its edge.
