METHOD OF DRILLING INCLINED AND HORIZONTAL WELLS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: well drilling, particularly, methods of well making and measuring of running coordinates of bottom of inclined and horizontal wells in process of their drilling. SUBSTANCE: method includes drilling of vertical wellbore, installation into drilling assembly of bottom-hole motor from depth of well crookedness increase, curved sub of seating device; lowering inside assembly pipes of inclinometer by means of logging cable and its fixing in seating device with further mounting of lower pipe sub accommodating electronic unit ensuring reception and transmission of signals through system of cableless transmission of information to surface. Novelty consists in that mounted into drilling assembly between drilling bit and bottom-hole motor is additional seating device accommodating autonomous instrument allowing performance of gamma-ray logging operations and other measurements whose results obtained during given round-trip operation are used for correction of coordinates of inclined and horizontal sections of wellbore.
