FIELD: structural seismology. SUBSTANCE: method is aimed at evaluation of intensity of seismic vibrations with allowance for properties of soils composing building site. Artificial source is employed to excite seismic vibrations in soil which are recorded by geophones placed on sections with different engineering and geological conditions, densities of examined and standard soils are measured and spectra of vibrations of these soils are constructed. Velocities of propagation of transverse waves are determined. Frequencies of vibration of examined and standard soils located at distance less and greater than length of wave of seismic vibrations are measured and increment of magnitude is found. EFFECT: increased reliability and reduced cost of method. 2 tbl
