FIELD: processes and equipment for welding and fusion on, possibly automatic electric arc fusion on of disc-like or cylindrical articles such as wheels of railway rolling stock. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes means for centering relative to article, and it is in the form of ring with inner diameter more than diameter of bearing axle of article 4 in the form of two ring halves 7,8 whose one ends are rotatably joined one with another and whose other ends are joined by means of detachable joint. Stoppers 13 are secured to ring with possibility of limited radial motion and engagement with lateral surface of bearing axle of article 4. Apparatus is also provided with additional running car 17 having at least one wheel. One end of one ring half is fixed to main running car 1 and other end of said ring half is fixed to additional running car 17. EFFECT: enhanced quality of fused coat due to stable motion of apparatus at fusion on process, possibility for realizing necessary number of tuning motions of electrode by means of simple mechanism. 4 cl, 6 dwg
