FIELD: oil and gas industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is specifically related to joining of structural members and can be used while preparing pipes and oil field equipment with conical threaded connections for operation or repair. Proposed method includes family of inventions forming single inventor's intention, characterizes technique of hermetic sealing of conical threaded connections in oil field equipment and includes deposition of layer of soft metal on surface of thread prior to screwing threaded connection together. In this case strip of soft metal uniform in thickness is deposited on section of female or male thread from start to two thirds of its working length as minimum, at least one belt of metal with thickness of layer twice as thick as layer in uniform strip is deposited on section falling at turn with incomplete profile located in zone of chamfer of standard reciprocal threaded member. Invention proposes two versions of gear designed for realization of method.
