METHOD FOR MAKING CHAIN-ARMOUR WEB AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of nets of chain armour web made of wire rings, possibly industry branches for making jewellery and protection articles. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of using portion of ready chain armour web; placing said portion with possibility of motion of at least of three lower rows of its rings in vertical plane; fixing formed ring having non-closed ends by means of working organs of fixation mechanism in horizontal plane, moving it towards said web portion until weaving with pair of rings of lower row; then with the aid of working organs drawing together ends of ring; after release of ring returning working organs to initial position and displacing fixation mechanism by one step in parallel relative to web. Apparatus for making chain armour web has mechanism for fixing ring with non-closed ends in the form of horizontally arranged strip and rod. Said mechanism is provided with guide pin. One ends of strip, rod and guide pin are kinematically joined with cam shaft. On end surface of other end of strip there is radial recess; on other end of rod there is stop in the form of dent whose radial surface is turned to radial recess of strip. Other end of guide pin is in the form of V-shaped fork. Mechanism for forming ring with non-closed ends is in the form of cylindrical rod vertically mounted in housing and horizontally arranged strip having through lengthwise opening for placing cylindrical rod, lengthwise groove for placing clamp for preliminarily bending wire and also having two coaxially arranged crosswise slit with curvilinear lateral surfaces. Cylindrical rod has in outer surface two diametrically opposite lengthwise grooves for placing ends of fork-like pusher. Said pusher, one end of strip and one end of clamp for preliminarily bending wire are kinematically joined with cam shaft. EFFECT: simplified manufacturing process, enlarged manufacturing possibilities due to making nets of any length, width and configuration. 3 cl, 7 dwg
