FIELD: transport engineering; mounted equipment of municipal and road-building machinery. SUBSTANCE: proposed drive of vehicle power takeoff shaft has hydromechanical gearbox including torque converter whose longitudinal axis is arranged in parallel with power takeoff shaft axis, and also gears and shafts. Gearbox has hydraulically operated friction clutch to control power takeoff-shaft. Gear rigidly coupled with power takeoff shaft is in meshing with gear of one of gearbox countershafts being freely fitted on shaft by means of bearing. Driven disks of friction clutch are coupled with said gear, and driving disk of friction clutch are coupled with gear also freely fitted on the same shaft by means of bearing being in meshing with gear rigidly connected with turbine shaft of hydraulic torque converter.
