FIELD: transport engineering industry. SUBSTANCE: planetary gear box is used primarily in vehicle transmission. It has two differential mechanisms of planetary type, one of which is three-link and the other is five-link mechanism. The first epicyclic gear of five-link differential mechanism is coupled to output shaft. The second epicyclic gear is coupled to the first brake. The first sun gear of the same mechanism is engaged with the second brake, and the second sun gear is coupled to input shaft through the first friction clutch. Epicyclic gear of three-link differential mechanism is engaged with the third brake and its sun gear, with input shaft. Carriers of both differential mechanisms are connected to each other. The second friction clutch is positioned between any two links of three-link differential mechanism. EFFECT: extended range of gear ratios. 1 dwg
