FIELD: mechanical engineering; resistance welding. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of lead-acid storage batteries for welding cell connectors. According to proposed method effective current and voltage across welding electrodes are measured and deviations from preset value of effective welding current in each welding half-cycle are recorded. Welding current is adjusted to ΔJ in each preceding half-cycle. Evaluation of quality of welds is done according to Σ|ΔJn| where n is number of half-cycles of welding cycle and to Σ|ΔU| at the last quarter of welding time. To evaluate quality of weld fuzzy logic method is used for three grades: good, satisfactory and bad. EFFECT: possibility of evaluation of weld quality in process of welding and control of welding process. 3 cl, 1 dwg
