FIELD: concentration of minerals; mining industry, metallurgy and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes measurement of pulp density and its present magnitude is compared with preset one. Measurement of pulp density is effected by means of sensor mounted in dispersing and main mixing zone in the immediate vicinity of impeller. When density of pulp is reduced by more than 10%, pulp from low-density zone located in mineralization zone is taken. In case density of pulp exceeds preset magnitude by more than 10%, pulp is taken from sand zone. To this end, signal is furnished from sensor to actuating mechanism through regulator for alternate closing of lower sand hole and upper drain hole distance between which is no less than height or diameter of sand hole. Drain hole is located under impeller. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency; increased service life due to avoidance of wear of impeller. 3 cl, 1 dwg
