FIELD: mineral concentration by methods of flotation; applicable, mainly, in sludge flotation. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of pulp to flotation machine, pulp aeration by impeller in zone of main fixing, separation and withdrawal of separation products from foam layer. In sludge flotation, flotation is effected at impeller periphery rotation speed of above 7.4 m/s, and additionally supplied to zone of main mixing are particles sizing at least of 0.074 mm. Device for flotation has chamber including zone of main mixing. Chamber accommodates stator and impeller with lower and upper bases connected with hollow shaft for air supply. Chamber is additionally provided with appliance for supply of particles sizing at least 0.074 mm to zone of main mixing. Appliance is installed on above impeller upper base.
