APPARATUS FOR BALANCING SPINDLES OF ROLLING MILLS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes spindle base supporting hydraulic cylinders for balancing spindles and springs supporting traverse bars with bearing assemblies. Spindle base is in the form of two columns having wings. Hydraulic cylinders are mounted on wings of one column, springs are secured to wings of other column. Traverse bars are jointly mounted by means of tie rods supported at one side by springs and at other side - by rods of hydraulic cylinders. Lifting carriage is placed in port between columns and it carries supports for changing upper and lower spindles. Carriage may be moved in vertical direction by means of hydraulic cylinders for changing spindles. Position of support of upper spindle is adjusted by means of adjusting screws. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of rolling mill and improved quality of rolled metal, increased useful life period of rolling rolls, high reliability of spindles. 6 dwg
