FIELD: pump engineering; pumping water in oil pools. SUBSTANCE: multiple-impeller pump has housing , lids, inlet and outlet pipes, shaft, impellers, guide vanes, and spacer shrouds. The latter have enclosed ducts on side facing the impeller through which gullet peripheral zone communicates with central zone. Inlet and outlet sections of duct run deep into shroud body, the former over circumference in direction of impeller rotation and the latter, over circumference in opposite direction. Revolving current exerts pressure approximately equal to that on impeller periphery onto liquid flowing in ducts carrying it to central zone of gullet. In this way axial forces acting on impeller are equalized. EFFECT: reduced volumetric loss, simplified design, improved reliability of pump. 6 dwg
