FIELD: oil producing industry; applicable in development of oil pools at late stage. SUBSTANCE: method of control of producing formation flood front is realized by withdrawal of oil through producing wells and injection into injection wells of working agent and aqueous mixture of cellulose ether and mud powder. Aqueous mixture is injected by portions with transition from one portion to another one at increase of pressure of injection, increase in each next fringe of amount of cellulose ether. Method is distinguished by the fact that cellulose ether is used in the form of methyl cellulose. Transition from one portion to another one is effected with increase of injection pressure by 11-20%. In so doing, total increase of amount of methyl cellulose is within 1.1-2.0 wt.% with variation of amount of mud powder in aqueous mixture from 1 to 25 wt.%. EFFECT: increased oil recovery from pool. 1 ex
