FIELD: automatic firearm, mainly small arms, applicable in development of large- caliber specimens of weapon. SUBSTANCE: the weapon has a frame with a barrel fixed to it, breechblock and a return spring. The breechblock is provided with - a locking crank mechanism made in the form of two pairs of connecting rod and crank hinge-joined in each pair. Each pair is positioned on the opposite lateral sides of the frame. The connecting rod of each pair with its external end is hinge-joined to the breechblock. The crank of each pair with its end is hinge-joined to the frame. The point of joint of the crank to the frame is deaxially positioned below the bore line. When an obtuse angle, with the vertex facing downwards, is formed, the breechblock gets locked in the position close to the dead center. The means for bringing the breechblock locking crank mechanism from the dead center position is made in the form of a gas escape engine with a short piston stroke in the direction of the axis crossing the bore line. The piston is engaged with the contact profile of the swinging fork lever that is hinge-joined to the frame. EFFECT: reduced mass of parts moving in the process of automatic reloading, reduced inertia-impact loads, reduced time of the reloading cycle, enhanced rate of fire and close-grouping of weapon shots. 13 cl, 9 dwg
