FIELD: electronic engineering. SUBSTANCE: amplifier has two ac reference-voltage supplies, n bit cells each incorporating transformer, first, second, and shunt adequately connected diodes, n switching members, input signal terminal, and amplifying member. It also has controlled rectifier, filter, and analog-to-digital converter for controlling bit cells; amplifying member is, essentially, analog power amplifier. Switching power amplifier also has voltage divider connected to load, to analog power amplifier, and to ground bus. EFFECT: reduced number of power supplies, enhanced efficiency and reliability. 4 cl, 5 dwg
