FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: voltage converter has transformer, first diode 6 connected to first primary winding 2 of transformer 1 and to first ac voltage supply. It also has second diode 8 connected to second primary winding 3 of transformer 1 and to second ac voltage supply, switching member 10 interconnecting common point of primary windings and power bus. Converter is provided with shunt diode 11 connected to ground bus and to common point of primary windings. It may also have rectifier bridge connected to secondary winding, ground bus, cathode of shunt diode 11, and load; anode of shunt diode 11 is connected to ground bus. Output circuit arrangements of converter may be found useful for series- connection circuits of similar converters. EFFECT: provision for switching converter output voltage at low output resistance in OFF-state. 2 cl, 3 dwg
