FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petrochemical and basic organic synthesis, in part, to methods of synthesis of boric esters of polyhydric alcohols "Akvabor" eliciting biological activity and showing water solubility and resistance to hydrolysis that are a mixture of boric esters of C5-C6-polyols with prevailing content of 3-methylpentanetriol-1,3,5,2-hydroxy-4-methyl-4-hydroxyethyl- -1,3,2-dioxaborinane and bis-(2-hydroxy-4-methyl-4-hydroxy- -ethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborinane)-hydroxyborane synthesized by chemical processing high-boiling by-side products in the process of synthesis of 4,4-dimethyldioxane-1,3. Composition is obtained by esterification of light fraction of high-boiling products with boiling point 150-180 C under residual pressure 100-200 mm of mercury column and in the mass ratio boric acid : light fraction of high-boiling products : water = (0.35-0.40):1:1, respectively. Process is carried in two reactors. In the first reactor the properly esterification reaction is carried out at 104-110 C followed by hydrolysis of intermediate products and separation of boric acid crystals on filter precipitating in hydrolysis. Filter is fitted in bottom part of reactor and separated crystals are fed to recycle. In the second reactor water excess and formaldehyde are distilled off and Catamine AB is added to enhance biological activity in the amount 0.5-1.5 wt. % as measured for composition formed.
