FIELD: bioactive substances. SUBSTANCE: invention describes a biocide composition based on water-soluble and hydrolysis-stable cyclic boric esters of polyatomic C5-C6-alcohols "Akvabor" containing additionally 2-5 wt.% of "Katamine AB" as measured for the biocide composition. Invention describes a method of preparing the biocide composition obtained by esterification of light fraction of high-boiling by-side products of synthesis of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane with boric acid at 150-180 C and under residual pressure 100-200 mm of mercury column and in the mass ratio boric acid : light fraction of high-boiling by-side products : water = (0.35-0.40) : 1 : 1, respectively. Process is carried out in two reactors. In the first reactor the esterification process is carried out at 104-110 C followed by hydrolysis and separation of precipitating in hydrolysis boric acid crystals on a filter installed in bottom part of reactor with a recycle of separated crystals to the process; in the second reactor excessive water, formaldehyde and light-volatile organic substances are distilled off and "Katamine AB" is added to enhance the biological activity in the amount 2-5% as measured for the composition formed.
