FIELD: preparatory spinning manufacture of textile industry. SUBSTANCE: all gear trains forming planetary drive are arranged in coiler head. Upper plate is mounted in hole of spherical disk at definite angle performing compound motion: rotation around its axis and transportation motion around axis of slowly revolving spherical disk. Point of entry of sliver into inclined passage lies in axis of rotation of disk owing to which distance between this point and calender roll remains constant during rotation of upper plate, thus reducing breaks of sliver and eliminating defects of planetary sliver coilers. In coiling sliver in can with movable spherical bottom over curves such as hypocycloid, convex area around central hole of package is absent. EFFECT: ease of replacement of cans. 1 dwg
