FIELD: production of knitted articles. SUBSTANCE: double-layer knitted fabric has loops I and II of random smooth surface weaving of one layer, which are connected with loops III and IV of random smooth surface weaving of other layer of the same row by interlacing their underlaps within fabric. Underlaps I of loops I embrace underlaps 3 of loops III from the top, and underlaps 4 of loops IV embrace underlaps 2 of loops II from the bottom in each forth row of loops.
