FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: rotary piston engine has housing, side covers, rotor, full flow-type combustion chamber communicating with working spaces through intake and outlet ports. Combustion chamber and working spaces are heat insulated. Piston elements are hinge-coupled with disks of rotor, connecting rods, and connecting rod hub. Connecting rod hub is installed for rotation on support shaft at speed equal to that of rotor. Support shaft is arranged either on intermediate shaft, or on crank. Intermediate shaft or crank can rotate, and top dead center of rotor pistons becomes movable. Engine implements thermodynamic cycle of gas turbine engine which makes it possible to select compression ratio and stoichiometric coefficient greater than those of conventional engines. EFFECT: improved efficiency of fuel usage and possibility of operation at higher compression ratios. 33 cl, 8 dwg
