FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to voltage and current converters of electric technological installations. It can find use in contactless control over voltage and current in primary windings of transformers supplying power to rectifiers, resistance furnaces, welding, arc and electrolysis plants, charging devices, capacitive energy storages and so on. Gear has protection unit made of load current transmitter to which adjustment resistor with threshold unit is connected and control unit composed of power supply source, pulse-width modulator synchronized with supplying network and incorporating integrating RC circuit and adjusting resistor connected in series and output device to control regulating element of converter. Resistor of integrating RC circuit is shunted by transistor with collector resistor which is connected with control input to adjustment resistor. Receivers of optrons are connected in parallel and in series with adjustment resistor and their radiators are linked via current-limiting resistor to load current transmitter. One optron is connected with radiator via threshold element and with receiver in parallel to adjustment resistor.
