FIELD: plastic working of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves summing up lengths ofstraight parts of profile and curved parts, with length of curved parts being determined by value of radius of neutral layer; determining thickness of blank and total angle of bending of related parts of profile; determining preliminary value of specific elongation of blank material, radius of flexure and angle of flexure, when first cracks appear in blank, as well as minimum thickness of bent part extending along angle bisecting line. Choice of predetermined value of radius of neutral layer allows metal usage to be reduced. Method allows cold-bent sections to be produced.
