FIELD: electromechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: three-phase synchronous machine has phase windings 5 of stator 1 wound in planes normal to axis of revolution and placed in annular slots 2 and 3, on inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of stator 1, and in its radial slots 4. Axes of windings 5 are aligned with generating lines of cylindrical surface of stator 1 whose radial dimension equals mean radius of stator 1; mentioned axes are spaced 120 deg. apart in plane perpendicular to axis of revolution. Each phase of winding 5 occupiers in this plane part of sector confined within diametric dimensions of stator 1 and respective central angle of 120 deg. Winding 17 of rotor 13 is wound in two relatively perpendicular planes so that each of its turns has two sections one of them being located in plane of stator phase windings 5 and placed in annular slot 14 of rotor 13; with rotor 13 in initial position winding turns are unidirectional. Other section built up of two parts is placed in diametrically opposite slots 15,16 of rotor 13 either side of annular slot 14; it has two identical opposing-lay loops. Spatial position of winding 17 of rotor 13 is synchronized with pulsating magnetic fluxes Фp of phase windings 5 of stator 1.
