ICE-RESISTANT OFFSHORE PLATFORM FOR SEISMIC REGIONS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: construction of offshore shelf structures for drilling and/or production of oil gas in seismic regions with ice period. SUBSTANCE: ice-resistant platform has floating hull with ballast tanks and vertically oriented truss and anchorage system with inclined anchor couplings, hawse pipes of star-shaped arrangement and bottom pile-type anchors. Besides that, platform is provide with additional suspension system with inclined couplings on which floating hull rests through hawse pipes in lower portion of truss. Inclined couplings of suspension are tightened vertically towards side opposite to direction of tension of anchoring system with inclined anchor couplings and are supported by central piles of pipe bundles whose height above sea bottom exceeds distance between sea bottom and hawse pipes of suspension of lower end of truss. Buoyancy of platform hull is lesser than sum of its mass and vertical projection of force of anchoring system with inclined anchor couplings directed downward. EFFECT: reliable resistance to ice load; avoidance of inadmissible action of ground; dampening of accelerations caused by seismic shifts of sea bottom; moderating of movement caused by swell. 1 dwg
