FIELD: tobacco industry. SUBSTANCE: medicinal preparation Polysorb MP produced by Russian pharmaceutical industry is proposed as sorbent to remove toxic components from tobacco smoke. Cellulose portion of standard filter is impregnated with 2-20% solution of Polysorb MP or sorbent is mixed with tobacco at 1:10 ratio. Absorption capacity regarding the following components is enhanced: carbon monoxide, tars, carcinogenic components, tobacco-specific N-nitro compounds, volatile N-nitro compounds. EFFECT: reduced toxicity of tobacco smoke. 2 tbl
