PIPE HEAD Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: pipe head can be used in the capacity well-head equipment in operation of oil and gas wells. Pipe head includes body with side taps, joining flanges, stepped axial and radial conduits. Axial conduit of body houses pipe holder fixed by locking bolt. Ball shut-off element with upper and lower seats is placed inside body. Mutually perpendicular through conduits and thimbles are made in ball shut-off element. Outer diameter of pipe holder is less than inner diameter of through conduit in ball shut-off element. Pipe holder is located in body under lower seat. Unit controlling ball shut-off element is made of rotary shaft with control lever and cover. Adapter flange in put on body. Shaped bushing made fast to body is installed in axial conduits of body and adapter flange. Upper seat is positioned inside shaped bushing. Adapter flange carries buffer flange or shaft gate valve. Pipe head without pipe holder adapter flange is mounted on upper flange of string head. Lifting string is sunk into well through axial conduit in ball shut-off element. After it pipe holder is fixed by bolts in axial conduit of body. Adapter flange is mounted on body. Shaped bushing is sealed tight in axial conduit of adapter flange. Buffer flange or shaft gate valve is placed on adapter flange. Pipe head is ready for operation on well-head when shaft gate valves are mounted and manifold is bound.
