FIELD: manufacture of precision shaped sections, mainly by cold rolling, for example shaped sections with small cross section area. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of using as initial blank with round cross section; deforming round blank in rough pass to trapezoidal piece; performing final rolling in universal roll grooved pass in such a way that small base of trapezoidal piece is guided to roll forming base of ready shape; setting width of small base of trapezoidal piece in range (0.5-0.6) Br , where Br - width of ready section; forming angle between lateral faces of blank in range 100-110 degrees; reducing trapezoidal pieces in universal roll grooved pass at relation of length values of deformation zones formed by horizontal rolls to length values of deformation zones formed by vertical rolls in range 0.78-0.82. EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities for making high-quality precision shapes with central groove at minimum labor consumption. 2 cl, 4 dwg
