FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling process parameters by regulating hackling speed and speed at which fiber is introduced into hackling field and withdrawn from it at different process stages of continuous operating mode. While flax fiber is introduced into hackling field, hackling is effected at decreasing speed beginning from the initial stage to full insertion of fiber into hackling field, and at withdrawal stage - at increasing speed beginning from the initial stage of withdrawal of hackled fiber. Process is performed in continuous operating mode. Flax hackling machine has two like parts, each including two hackles, carriage and shoes, which are provided with individual drives for controlling process parameters. All controlled individual drives are connected to single control unit. Inlet of each drive is connected to related output of control unit. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and improved quality of hackled flax fiber. 3 cl, 1 dwg
