FIELD: rocketry. SUBSTANCE: solid-propellant rocket engine has housing, nozzle, charge, igniters and hydraulic damping unit consisting of cup and differential piston installed in cup for axial displacement and fixed by lock provided with return elements and liquid cooler arranged in underpiston space of cup and in tank exposed to supercharging pressure. Tangential (screw) channels made over differential piston circumference connect underpiston space of cup and above- piston space provided with sealing unit at housing side. Hydraulic drive located in underpiston space of cup is made in form of set of telescopic hydraulic cylinders. Part of smaller diameter hydraulic cylinders is provided with radial holes communicating under-piston space of cup with space of hydraulic drive accommodating a valve made in form of control differential piston installed for overlapping radial ports made in hydraulic drive in course of longitudinal travel. Radial ports place underpiston space of cup in communication with space of hydraulic drive. Ring underpiston space of valve communicates with underpiston space, and above-piston space of valve communicates with tank.
