FIELD: artificial convective drying of lumber. SUBSTANCE: drying is effected under cover separating working zone with under-pile high-temperature calorifiers and under-calorifier condensate receiving tray from surrounding space; tray is provided with regulator for control of rate of removal of evaporated moisture. Specific feature of invention consists in avoidance of erection of walls, ceilings, doors, under-pile transport facilities, drying agent artificial circulation and plenum-exhaust ventilation systems. This method requires only thermal under-pile equipment and under-calorifier condensate receiving tray provided with throttle-regulator for removal of condensate. Detachable steam-tight casing performs function of cover; it is fitted directly on pile and is sealed-up over its floor perimeter. Method ensures performing the drying process at constant preset rate by usual self-controlled mode. EFFECT: improved quality of drying of broad-leaved hard wood species; reduced capital outlays; possibility of using any kind of power supply. 2 cl, 1 dwg
