METHOD FOR SECURING TUBES TO TUBE PLATE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, namely processes for securing tubes to tube plates of heat exchanging apparatuses. SUBSTANCE: method is realized with use of effect of localized oriented plastic deformation of tube material. Method comprises steps of profiling tube end portion after preparing it by forming on outer surface of tube end portion cone whose apex is arranged outside tube end and also by forming portion with curvilinear generatrix turned to tube axis and smoothly joined with cone portion; placing tube into tube opening without gap in such a way that tube portion with curvilinear generatrix may embrace front (at side of face of tube plate) edges of two annular grooves of opening of tube plate; fixing tube against its possible motion and fastening it in tube opening of tube plate in such a way that at first tube material fills annular grooves of tube plate and then common deformation of tube and tube plate is realized. EFFECT: possibility for providing necessary operational parameters of tube-to-tube plate joint without applying increased efforts to tube end. 5 dwg
