FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly rolling stands with increased rigidity and enhanced technological parameters, reconstruction of duo-stands to universal rolling stands. SUBSTANCE: rolling stand includes frames, upper and lower horizontal rolls mounted in upper and lower chocks; mechanisms for adjusting rolls and cartridges with vertical rolls mounted between chocks of horizontal rolls. Plate extending outside struts of frames are rigidly secured to frame struts at outer sides of frame windows. Portions of struts are mutually joined by means of upper and lower beams supporting inlet and outlet roller guides. Cartridges with vertical rolls are mounted between inner surfaces of frame struts and plate surface by means of wedge devices. Upper beams have trapezoidal cross section; lower beams are tubular. Rolling stand includes in addition mechanism for axially fixing chocks of lower horizontal roll and mechanisms for spacing chocks of horizontal rolls mounted with possibility of rotation for their introducing in space between chock of horizontal rolls at changing rolls and at demounting cartridges with vertical rolls. EFFECT: enhanced technological parameters and increased rigidity of rolling stands, possibility for reconstructing duo-stands to universal ones. 5 cl, 8 dwg
