ROLLING STAND OF ROLLING MILL Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B21B13/04 

FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly bar and billet rolling mills.

SUBSTANCE: rolling stand includes mutually joined housing with windows and lid; three arranged horizontally rolls with bearing assemblies in chocks. Means chocks are mounted between protrusions in windows of housing and they have jaws embracing chocks of upper roll. Stand includes screw type mechanism for regulating inter-roll spacing values; mechanisms for balancing upper roll coupled through tie rods with chocks of roll; mechanism for axial regulation of rolls having forcing cleats secured to housing and joined with end faces of chocks. Stand is provided with two hydraulic units; each hydraulic unit has two hollow pistons mounted in such a way that they are engaged with lids and along the same axis as tie rods of mechanisms for balancing upper roll. Body of hydraulic unit rests upon jaws of chocks of mean roll and it has central opening for passing screw of mechanism for regulating inter-roll spacing for upper roll. Mechanisms for balancing upper roll are in the form of hydraulic cylinders mounted on lid of stand, having bodies and movable crosspieces joined with tie rods. Bodies of said hydraulic cylinders are used as guides for crosspieces. Pressure cavities of hydraulic cylinders and of hydraulic units are mutually communicated through common pipeline system. Chocks of upper roll have end flanges embracing jaws of chocks of mean rolls and joined with forcing cleats of mechanism for axial regulation of roll.

EFFECT: increased rigidity of stand due to controlled value of spacing effort, improved condition for maintaining stand, enhanced efficiency of rolling.
