FIELD: processing documents. SUBSTANCE: the electronic bank automatic machine (10) accomplishes identification and keeping of documents such as bank notes deposited by the user. The automatic machine provides for selective extraction of such documents from the deposit zones and issue of them to other users. The automatic machine comprises the central transportation mechanism (70), in which the documents stacked in the automatic machine are processed by sorting of the stack, orientation and identification. Such documents are then directed to the deposit zones in containers (92,94,96,98) for reuse. When the user subsequently inquires the issue of documents, the documents kept in the deposit zones are selectively extracted from them and delivered to the user through the inlet/outlet zone (50) of the automatic machine.
