FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is new composition for preparing metathesis polymerizates from (a) at least one compound of formula: (A)_n-B -X₅-R₂₀-X₆(I) wherein A is radical of hindered cycloolefin, B is direct bond of bridge group X₅ and X₆ wherein R₂₀ is direct bon, and C₂-C₁₈ is C₁-C₄ alkylene, unsubstituted or substituted by C₇-C₁₉ alkyl; or aralkylene, n is integer of 2 to 8; and (b) catalytic amount of at least one thermo and radioactive monocomponent except for complex norbornen carboxylic acid norbornenmethyl ester (A) of formula (A) in combination with catalytic amount of at least one heat-resistant compound of molybdenum (VI) or tungsten (VI) containing at least methyl groups or two monosubsituted methyl groups bonded with metal, substituent containing no hydrogen atom in alpha-position.
