FIELD: control rods for liquid-metal-cooled fast reactors. SUBSTANCE: absorbing rod has at least two groups of various pellets. Density and, preferably, concentration of isotope having high effective neutron-absorption section of lower-group pellets are lower than those of upper-group pellets. In this way densities of pellets may amount to 84 and 96% of their maximal theoretical density while concentration of isotope having high effective section may be about 55 and 90%.
